Borrowing Privileges

In most circumstances, a patron may check out unlimited library materials. Checkout is not restricted by number, type of materials except for videos,CDs, and DVDs, or patron age. Patrons are bloc ked from checking out materials if they owe ten dollars or more in fines and fees or if they have too many items overdue.

*Please return all videos, CDs, and DVDs inside the library and not in the outside drop box.

Most library materials may be renewed at home through SAILS under “my account” in the Enterprise online catalog. You may also call the Circulation Desk for assistance. Items on hold may not be renewed. When you call, please have your library card barcode and/or the book barcodes of the items available. Thank you.

Lost/Damaged Items

You will be charged for lost/damaged items. Please contact the Circulation Desk for prices. The WBPL is not responsible for damage incurred to returned materials in the Book Drop. Materials returned in the Book Drop are subject to the liability of the patron until they are retrieved and checked in by the staff. Water damage, ripped pages, broken bindings, or stains caused by insertion or falling through the Book Drop will be assessed to the patron. If there is any doubt on the part of the patron, materials are to be returned directly to the Circulation Desk during open hours. If library material is damaged by a patron, the library will determine if the material may be repaired and put back into circulation. A $2.00 processing fee is charged per item in addition to the current replacement cost of the lost/damaged item.
