3D Printing Services

Guidelines for Printing:

  • Library patrons can run prints on the library’s Makerbot Sketch Large during open library hours. No print jobs can be run after hours.
  • There is a 5 hour print time limit per person per week.
  • 3D printing librarians run the printer. Files must be submitted in .STL format, or sent as a downloadable link via email. When submitting a file for printing please make sure to include “3D print file” in the subject heading.
  • The library will NOT print hazardous or offensive items including weapons or items resembling weapons.
  • The library reserves the right to decline any print. Some prints may be too large or complicated for our printer to handle. A librarian will inform you if this is the case, and give you alternate options.
  • Send print files to:  westbpl80@gmail.com. Ask the 3D printing librarian for instructions and materials to help you design your own print and/or fix a flawed print. OR, visit the library and fill out a 3D printing request form. Prints may take up to two weeks to complete, depending on the queue at the time, and staff availability.
